  1. When does the coverage for my extended service contract begin?

    Coverage for a new-vehicle plan (less than 6,000 miles at time of service contract purchase) begins when the vehicle is originally put into service and at zero miles. Used vehicle plans (greater than 6,000 miles on odometer) begin from the time and date of service contract purchase.

    Note: There is no differentiation between actual coverages of new or used plans. The only difference is when the service contract begins based upon current miles on odometer.

  2. My new car is still covered under the factory warranty. What are the benefits of purchasing a Honda Care today?

    Honda considers the vehicle to be “new” until 6,000 miles. Up until this point, your vehicle qualifies for up to 8 years/120,000 miles of factory coverage. Once your vehicle exceeds 6,000, it still qualifies for the same benefits, but the time/mileage options are reduced to a maximum of 6 years/102,000 miles (coverage begins from current mileage and date of service contract). Also by enrolling today, you will instantly be entered into Honda’s roadside assistance program, which provides you with car rental, lock out services, towing and other accompanying benefits of the policy.

  3. After I enroll into Honda Care, what should I expect to receive in the mail?

    In approximately 3 weeks, you will receive a Honda Care welcome package, which includes your identification card showing time, mileage and deductible options. We will also mail to you a copy of the Signet Guaranteed Price Refund program for your records.

  4. The prices of these extended service contracts seems so reasonable. Is American Honda Finance Corporation actually providing the coverage?

    Given the complexity of your vehicle, Honda strongly recommends that your vehicle’s service be provided by a Certified Honda Technician. However, you do have the option of using another service facility if you choose to do so. You must obtain prior authorization from the administrator by calling toll free 1-800-999-5901 before incurring any repair costs. Honda will then authorize the reasonable cost of any repair for a covered component.
